This is a new feature we’re going to try around these parts.  Every month we’re going to post our top 10 most subscribed comics and talk about what’s changed.

The list went through a pretty major change this month.

For a refresher, this is what June 2016 looked like:

  1. Batman
  2. Star Wars
  3. Amazing Spider-Man
  4. Detective Comics
  5. Justice League
  6. Superman
  7. Darth Vader
  8. Flash
  9. Uncanny X-Men
  10. Saga

This was pretty consistent for a few months. Batman has been our most subscribed to title since 2011. Star Wars has been in the top 5 consistently since its launch, and Amazing Spider-Man is always in the mix.  A few surprises though were strong showings from Superman and Flash. Superman is in the top 20, and Flash is in the top 30 normally, but a bump from Rebirth really sent them skyrocketing.

Here’s July’s line-up.

  1. Batman
  2. Justice League
  3. Detective Comics
  4. Star Wars
  5. Amazing Spider-Man
  6. Superman
  7. Flash
  8. Wonder Woman
  9. Darth Vader
  10. Action Comics

No surprise that Batman is #1, likewise, the new Justice League is doing well. Detective Comics is really jumping up the list, with per-unit sales closing in on Batman. There was only 1 copy separating the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place.

Both Uncanny X-Men and Saga fell off the top 10, but they were replaced by Wonder Woman and Action Comics which both saw big boosts thanks to the Rebirth event.

Interestingly, the moves this month aren’t because people are dropping the former top 10 titles, but because more people have added titles.  In fact we’ve seen a massive influx of new customers in the last four months, and a line-wide boost for DC Comics, indicating that the Rebirth is doing well.  DC currently holds 23 of the top 50 spots, with Marvel holding 24, and Image rounding out the other 3.

Saga, Paper Girls and Walking Dead are the three top 50 standouts for Image.

Black Hammer from Dark Horse comics clocks in at #73 as the first non DC/Marvel/Image title, right ahead of Buffy.

There are 310 comics which only have 1 copy pulled each month.
